KCC&I hopes IT department help resolve problems facing business community

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a detailed interaction with Rajesh Kumar Madan Lal, Joint Commissioner, Shabir Ahmad Handoo Assistant Commissioner and other officers of the Income Tax Department at the office of the Kashmir Chamber at Residency Road, Srinagar.
According to a statement issued here, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President, KCC&I gave an overview of the state of economy and various issues concerning the Income Tax Department.
He stated that the KCC&I would be acting as a bridge between the Department and the Tax Payers to assist in settlement of pending issues.
Rajesh Kumar Madan Lal said that the Department would be working closely with the KCC&I to make the business community aware about the working of Income Tax Department and assured that all genuine assesses of the IT Department would be welcome to discuss their cases with the officers of the Department, the statement said.
He said that timely filling of returns and regular interaction with the Department would help in allaying apprehensions consumers may have about the Department.
He said that the officers were aware about the conditions prevailing here and would be helping in resolving problems the business community may face.
It was decided in the meeting that the KCC&I would be holding regular sector wise interactions with the IT Department so that sector specific discussions take place and issues are addressed.
