Pulwama: Lack of portable water supply to Drubgam Payeen village in Pulwama district has forced the inhabitants to fetch contaminated water from nearby areas for daily household purposes.
“In absence of clean water we are forced to fetch contaminated water from nearby villages,” residents rued, adding that they are running a risk of an outbreak of ‘water borne disease’.
They said that the despite being among the well connected areas the village is being ‘deliberately denied access to portable water supply.’
“The reasons are best known to authorities. We have time and again appealed to authorities but our pleas have fallen to deaf ears,” they said.
The residents appealed to the higher authorities to issue necessary directions to the officials to get the clean water supply in the area.
