Kulgam: A militant has been killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Tazipora Mohammadpora village of Kulgam district in the wee hours of Wednesday.  

The gunfight broke out in the area when a joint team of forces including 9 RR, 18 BN CRPF and SOG kulgam launched search operation in the area.

Forces had received specific inputs about the presence of militants in the village and when  the search operation was intensified hiding militants fired upon forces triggered an encounter. 

“During exchange of gunfire one militant has been killed,” sources said.

They claimed that the body has been recovered and his identity is being ascertained.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure mobile internet services have been snapped in the district.
