Schools to remain open in Srinagar tomorrow; class work in higher secondary schools, colleges to remain suspended in most of Valley

Srinagar: The authorities on Sunday announced that the classwork in all higher secondary schools and colleges in Srinagar shall remain suspended on Monday (May 27). “Schools will remain open,” the official said. The decision to suspend class work in higher secondary schools and colleges has been taken as a precautionary measure, the official added. In Pulwama district, all the schools and colleges will remain closed. The class work shall remain suspended at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora on Monday.
Also all higher secondary schools and colleges shall remain closed in Budgam and Kupwara districts besides those in Baramulla town, Sopore and Pattan, officials said.
Also, the class work in degree colleges and higher secondary schools of Anantnag and Bijbehara town shall remain suspended along with degree colleges and four higher secondary schools—two in Bandipora and one each in Sumbal and Hajin area of Bandipora district, the officials added.
