Kashmir observes shutdown over Geelani’s call, restrictions imposed in valley parts

Srinagar: Shutdown is being observed across Kashmir valley for second consecutive day following killing of Ansar Gazwat ul Hind chief Zakir Rashid Bhat alias Musa in a gunfight in Tral area of Pulwama district two days ago.

Authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar, and Kulgam and Pulwama towns.

Reports from district headquarters said that schools and colleges remained shut, while mobile internet continued to be suspended across the valley.

 

Trains on the Baramulla-Banihal tracks have been suspended.

In Srinagar restriction stay imposed in areas falling under Police stations Nowhatta, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safakadal and M R Gung.

Partial restrictions were in force in Maisuma and Kralkhud areas.
The call for shutdown on Saturday has been given Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Shah Geelani against the killing of Musa and a civilian Zahoor Ahmad, a resident of Naira Pulwama who was killed by unidentified gunmen on Thursday.
