The authorities have decided not to allow a procession led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Old City,  and have put him under house detention.

All the business establishments,  schools are closed and there is no vehicular movement on roads.

“The roads are filled with forces and gypsies.  They are stopping every passer by,” they said.

They said that concertina wires have been erected to create road blocks restricting pedestrian movement as well.

The authorities on Monday announced that they have ordered imposition of restrictions in parts of old city in view of a shutdown call by JRL.
