Ganderbal: Another horrific report of rape case has come to fore in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

Reports said that on Tuesday the Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a youth for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Ganderbal.

The incident, according to reports, came to fore on Tuesday after Ganderbal police arrested Asif Ahmad Wani son of Muhammad Maqbool Wani, a resident of new Colony Harran Ganderbal over allegations of rape.

Reports said the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents after which they lodged a complaint on Sunday against the accused at Ganderbal police station.

Based on the complaint Ganderbal police arrested the accused and registered a case under FIR number 98/2019 under RPC 376, 451 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO).

SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal confirmed the arrest and said that they have launched an investigation into the accusations.

He said the age of the girl is between 15-16 year’s.

Police officials said that the accused has been arrestedthe and investigation is going on
