Sumbal: Residents of Sultanpora here on Sunday staged a protest against the rape of a 3-year-old girl earlier this week.
The protesters took to streets on Naidkhai-Sopore road at Sultanpora, demanding stern punishment to person who allegedly raped the minor in Sumbal area of Bandipora district.
“We want justice. The culprit should be hanged,” said protesters.
The accused has already been arrested and an FIR—81/2019—under sections 363/342/376 RPC has been registered at Sumbal Police Station, and the investigation into the matter started.
