Shutdown in Sopore for second straight day over militant killing

Sopore: A shutdown is being observed on Saturday in Sopore and its adjoining areas over the killing of a local militant Ishfaq Mushtaq Sofi alias Abdullah Bhai in a brief shootout with government forces  in Shopian district of south Kashmir. 

Reports said that partial shutdown is being observed in parts of Sopore, and Zaingeer belt also.

Sofi was killed in an encounter at Amshipura area of Shopain south Kashmir on Friday morning.

He was buried at martyrs graveyard in Iqbal market Sopore amid clashes between youth and forces.

All business establishments are closed in the town while thin movement of public and private transport is plying on the roads.

Meanwhile authorities have decided to suspend class work in three education institutions across Sopore Sub division today as a precautionary measure.
