WCS to face MGS in final of 7A Side Womens Hockey Tournament

Srinagar: Two semifinals of 2nd 7A Side Womens Hockey Tournament were played on Thursday at Women’s College MA Road Ground, Srinagar.
In the first semifinal, Women’s College Srinagar won by 4-0 against Govt College of Physical Education B. The second semifinal saw Mallinson Girls School defeat Govt College of Physical Education-A 2-1.
The tournament is organised by Kashmir Hockey Academy in collaboration with Women’s College MA Road and sponsored by state sports council. 8 teams across the valley participated in the tournament which commenced on April 30.
Organisers of the tournament said that the main motive behind organising this tournament was to promote girls in the field of hockey. This is the second edition of the tournament of hockey which was organised by KHA to boost the young talented players who are keen to play hockey.
The players appreciated the efforts of the Kashmir Hockey Academy to give the talented female players a platform to showcase their skills. They said that the girls have talent but need a platform to showcase the same. They also demanded the basic requirements from the government so that it can help them to excel in this sport.
