Shopian: Shopian’s Jasia Akhtar have been selected to play in women’s Indian Premier League (IPL) that will start on May 6 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

BCCI on Wednesday announced the schedule for this year’s IPL that is titled Women’s T20 Challenge.

Jasia is from Shopian district in South Kashmir.

She received a call from BCCI on 24th evening and she has been told to join the team on 2nd May.

Jasia, will be the part of first Women’s T20 Challenge team from Jammu and Kashmir.

Women’s T20 Challenge A three-team tournament will take place during the IPL 2019 playoffs.

The T20 Challenge starts from 6 may 2019 and the matches will be played on 6, 8 and 9 while as the final match of the tournament will be played on 11th May.

The final match of women’s T20 Challenge will be played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur Rajasthan

All the match are expected to be telecast on Star Sports network.
