Youth beaten in Rafiabad, police registers case against Army

Baramulla: Police has registered a case against Army after it thrashed a youth in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The case has been registered against 32 RR

Protests broke out in the area after news spread in the area that two youth travelling in a car when Army stopped them and thrashed one of them.

Protesters blocked Handwara-Baramulla Highway at Laser demanding action against army over highhandedness .

The youth who was beaten by Army has been identified as Tariq Ahmed Rather son of Nazir Ahmed Rather resident of Laiser Rafiabad.

SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal earlier told INS that the youth were asked to stop.

“The two  boys responded to them in aggressive way after which they were thrashed by army. Further investigation in the incident has been launched,” Iqbal said.
