Baramulla: Sopore recorded a minimal voter turnout with 2 percent votes cast while Baramulla district recorded 15.05 percent of voting till 1 pm on Thursday for the Lok Sabha polls underway in the valley.
According to officials a total of 96018 votes have been cast in the district.
The percentage breakup inculdes Sopore 2.0%, Uri 40.70 %, Rafiabad 8.01%, Sangrama 7.41%, Baramulla 9.60%, Gulmarg 21.20% and Pattan 18.19%
Sopore is a home area of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani who is also part of Joint Resistance Leadership comprising of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik as well.
