RSS Leader, PSO Killed; Curfew Imposed In Kishtwar; Guv orders security review of important installations

Kishtwar: A Rashtriya Swayamasevak Sangh (RSS) leader, who was working as medical assistant, and his PSO were killed in an attack by suspected militants inside Kishtwar hospital on Tuesday.
Official that the suspected militants entered inside the hospital at Kishtwar in the afternoon and fired upon the RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma and his PSO, a police officer confirmed. While the PSO died on the spot , Sharma was airlifted to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment. However, he succumbed to the injuries. He attackers also decamped with service rifle of the PSO while a manhunt has been launched.
Soon after the incident, curfew was imposed in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas “as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the district”. The district administration also called in army to carry a flag march amid curfew.
Meanwhile, Governor Satya Pal Malik condemned the incident and in a condolence message, he prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families in their hour of grief.
Governor has directed civil and police administration to review the safety and security aspects of all the important installations, establishments and public places and maintain strict vigil to thwart the nefarious designs of the forces inimical to peace and stability of the State.
Governor has appealed to the people to co operate with the administration and maintain peace and harmony.
