Police party attacked by villagers in Waragam Budgam

Budgam:  A police party from Police Station Beerwah was attacked by villagers while they were deputed to execute a non-bailable warrant against an accused in the area.

According to police spokesman the team were to execute orders of against one accused person Tariq Malik son of Ali Mohammad Malik resident of Waragam, Budgam.

“When the police party arrived in the village, a mob comprising of males and females attacked the police party. One constable was also held hostage by the mob and was later retrieved from the village with the efforts of police,” police said.

Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated investigation.
