Ban imposed on carrying weapons during Lok Sabha Election in Shopian

Shopian: District Magistrate Shopian Dr Owais Ahmed has issued prohibitory orders, directing all the license holders of district Shopian to immediately deposit the weapons with concerned Police Stations.
According to the prohibitory orders, the weapon holders having licenses granted by the District Magistrates of the other District or by Home Department and putting up in Shopian District shall also deposit weapons in the concerned Police Station with immediate effect.
Any person, if found carrying weapon, after the issuance of this order, shall be dealt under law, the weapon shall be seized and the license shall be cancelled. However; the security guards involved in escorting vehicles carrying cash to banks and ATM’s and ATM guards are exempted from this order.
Sr. Superintendent of Police, Shopian shall ensure the compliance of this order through concerned SHO’s.
This order shall remain enforced till the election process for Lok Sabha Election, 2019 is over.
