Baramulla: India and Pakistan armies resorted to mortar shelling in violation of ceasefire along the Line of Control (LOC) in Kamalkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources told INS that Pakistani troopers resorted to “heavy shelling” on Indian army posts, which was “retaliated effectively”. A shell landed near the house of one Mohammad Sadiq Gujjar son of Baber Ali Gujjar at Kamalkote, damaging it partially.
Locals said that panic gripped the area around 3 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. when both sides resorted to heavy shelling . There was no loss of life of injury reported in the area so far.
