Fresh snowfall in Gulmarg, other parts of Valley

Srinagar: Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, witnessed fresh snowfall along with other areas of Valley while this summer capital of the state witnessed rains.
A meteorological department official told INS that Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.8 Degrees Celsius last night and 7.6 8mm of rainfall in 24 hours till 8:30 a.m.
Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort in north Kashmir, amassed 15 centimetres (half foot) of fresh snow and recorded a low of minus 4.5 degrees Celsius while the famous health resort of Pahalgam witnessed 3cms of snow and registered a minimum of minus 0.3 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius and saw snowfall of 2 centimetres, he said.
The official said that Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir saw 5 centimetres of snow and recorded a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius while the mercury settled at minus 0.4 degrees Celsius in Kokernag town which witnessed two centimeters of snow.
The weatherman has forecast improvement in the weather in next 24-hours.
