Shopian :Department Of wildlife Shopian district has issued a fresh advisory in five villages of Shopian district after leopard was spotted on Thursday at different spots in the areas. 

Reports said that the wild animal was spotted in in Phanoo,Pehilpora and Waturpora its adjoining villages of Shopian.

“The Wildlife protection department advised people of these areas to stay indoors especially in the morning and evening hours,” officials said.

Wildlife Officer Mudasir Ahmad told INS that footprints of leopard were seen at various places.

“We are trying to trace the animal, as soon as possible. For now people have been asked to to stay vigilant and keep lights with them during night,” he said, adding that they urge people to cooperate with the department.
