Ganderbal: New Type Primary Health Center Koundbal has been battling with acute shortage of staff and with minimal basic facilities.
According to locals the new type primary health centre was basically a Allophatic dispensary and two years back it was promoted as NTPHC.

Locals said that it has a complete structure of building which is not fully equipped with basic facilities to fulfill the needs of the village.
“Heath centre is run by Medical assistant, Dental technician and nursing orderly,” locals told INS.

“Though it has a two posts of MBBS doctors, that too were attached to district hospital Ganderbal,” they said, adding the area is suffering for the want of doctors.

According to locals they have been demanding that doctors and paramedical staff should be provided in NTPHC Koundbal village.
“There is no basic facilities like Laboratory and X-Ray as well,” they said.
Chief Medical officer Ganderbal Dr. R. D. Kasana said that due to the pressure on district hospital Ganderbal ‘they have taken the services of this NTPHC for some time because of the strike of NHM doctors.’
“Now they have resumed duties the doctors will be send to its original places,” he said.
