DC Kupwara reviews status of essential services in north Kashmir district

Kupwara: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg convened a meeting with district and sectoral officers to assess the availability of essential services in the district particularly availability and distribution of essential commodities, clearance of roads, power, drinking water supply etc.
The meeting was informed that essential services are functioning smoothly in the district and the required staff has been attending their duties properly.
On the occasion, DDC directed the concerned authorities to gear up their field functionaries to make the damaged receiving station functional in the stipulated time frame so that people of the area will not face any hardship. He also directed concerned to submit proposals of damages and requirement of new transformers in the district so the matter will be taken up with higher authorities.
The Deputy Commissioner also inquired about the status of various roads from executing agencies like R&B, Beacon etc. It was informed by concerned officials that due to bad weather roads have been damaged at various places in the district. DC directed the concerned agencies to repair the main roads and link roads of the district.
The DDC also directed all the departments to ensure availability of essential commodities, water and power supply, transport and medicare so that people do not face any inconvenience. He directed Municipal authorities for ensuring proper cleanliness and sanitation in the entire District.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD and I&FC, officials of Information department and other concerned.
