Budgam

A 17 year old Kashmiri girl hailing from Sitharan village of Khag area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district went missing since Friday morning from her home in Bag-e- Bahu area of Jammu where she was living with her parents.

Sources close to the family told the INS that Sameera Akhter on Friday morning left home and did not returned. While as reports reaching The INS said that on Friday morning Sameera left home to buy some detergent powder from the market and did not return after her parents’ registered a missing complaint in the nearby police station.

When INS contacted Station House Officer Bag-e- Bahu, Sunil Sharma said, “We have received a missing complaint of Sameera from her family who went missing since Friday morning and we are trying hard to trace her whereabouts.”

When asked about any links with Jammu violence Sharma replied, “It is propagated by some sections of media that she went missing after violence erupted in Jammu region which is totally baseless. Jammu violence has nothing to do with it as the violence erupted in the late afternoon of Friday but Sameera is missing since morning of the same day.”

It became difficult to trace her whereabouts as the she doesn’t possess any mobile phone which could have been easily traced at the first instance but to locate the girl “We have launched an investigation to trace her as soon as possible,” Sharma added.
