Kashmiri employees in Civil Sec’t Jammu won’t join duties, demand safe return of families to Valley

Srinagar: Civil Secretariat employees in Jammu has decided to not resume duties on Monday and have asked government to provide them transportation to send their families back to valley due to ‘insecurity in the region.’

Employees Coordination Committee Civil Secretariat Jammu headed by its Chairman Ghulam Rasool Mir said that they will not be joining duties as they under threat and without adequate security to the Kashmiri employees they will not be able to join the official work.

“We have families with us they are not secure how can we go to offices,” Mir said, adding that they are not able to get daily grocery items from the markets.

“In such a scenario how can you leave your family,” Mir said.

He said that they have urged government to provide them for transportation as they want to send their families back to Kashmir.

“We cannot let our families stay here as situation is not good here and when you are even unable to get daily home supplies its better for them to be in Kashmir,” Mir said, adding that they want safe return of employees families to valley.
