Stranded traffic allowed towards Srinagar from Jammu; Night Temp Drops In Gulmarg, Pahalgam

Srinagar: Authorities have allowed stranded vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar on the strategic highway, a day after it was closed amid fresh landslides in Ramban district.
A traffic department official said that debris of landslides was cleared late last night and in wake of the better weather conditions, stranded traffic was allowed to move towards Srinagar on the thoroughfare, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world.
Meanwhile, the night temperatures in Srinagar settled at normal for this time of the year even as it dropped in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, weather office said here on Saturday.
A meteorological department official said the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of one degrees Celsius last night.
The mercury in Qazigund and Kokernag towns in south Kashmir settled at a low of 0.8 degrees Celsius and 0.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 0.7 degrees Celsius, he said.
Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort in north Kashmir and the famous health resort of Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 7.8 degrees Celsius
