Thousands attend last rites of slain militant in Kelam Kulgam

Kulgam: Thousands of people attended the funeral procession of 18 year old militant Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat at Kelam on Monday.

Witnesses said that chanting pro-freedom slogans thousands of people including  women and children attended the funeral of slain militant 18 year old Parvaiz Bhat S/O Bashir Ahmad from Qaimoh Kulgam , who had joined militant ranks in July last year.

Pertinent to mention that government forces launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Kelam area of Kulgam , after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As the search was intensified, the hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated,  triggering ed a gunfight.

In the gunfight 5 Millitants including Parvaiz Bhat were killed.
