Kupwara: Government forces on early Wednesday morning launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Salkoote village in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said that a joint team of government forces laid the siege in Salkoote village at around 07:15 a.m. and conducted door to door searches. After about two hours, the siege was lifted, sources said.
A police officer said that the CASO was launched following information about the presence of militants. However, he said, the CASO concluded without “establishing contact with militants.”
