Srinagar: Parts of Kashmir Valley received fresh snow overnight even as the meteorological department office has already forecast rains and snow throughout today and tomorrow.
An official of the local MeT office said on Wednesday that Gulmarg witnessed 11cm of snow and recorded a low of minus 4.6 degree Celsius.
Pahalgam saw 4 cm of snow, Qazigund and Kokernag witnessed 4.2mm and 0.2mm of rain respectively, Kupwara witnessed 3 cm of snow while Srinagar has mix rain and snow equivalent to 1.8mm of rain.
Due to a cloud cover the minimum temperatures increased in Valley with Qazigund recording 1.4 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 0.6, Kokernag minus 0.6 and Kupwara minus 0.7 degrees Celsius.
Leh in Ladakh recorded minus 4.3, Kargil recorded minus 16.0 degrees Celsius, the official said.
“Almost all J&K is now under the (weather) system and its most likely to receive rain snow today and tomorrow,” the official added.
