The order, issued by the Div Com’s office on January 25, comes after National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) seeking the data from Jammu and Kashmir government on immovable properties of Kashmiri migrants.
NSCS is an executive government agency advising the Prime Minister’s Office on matters of national security and strategic interest had issued its order on 14 January.
The NSCS is preparing an assessment of Kashmiri migrants (Pandits, Sikhs and others) who were displaced due to militancy in J&K.
“Current landholdings and immovable property of Kashmiri migrants in the Kashmir valley, who are settled in other parts of J&K and rest of India. Area-wise data is requested,” said the order, issued by SM Sahai, additional secretary NSCS.

The order also seeks area-wise details of ‘distress sales’ and alienation of immovable properties of Kashmiri migrants in the Kashmir valley since 1990s.
