2 CRPF men among 7 injured in Anantnag grenade blast

Anantnag: Two CRPF personnel and five civilians were injured in a grenade blast outside a police post at Sheerbagh in this south Kashmir district on Thursday.
Official sources said that suspected militants lobbed a grenade on police post at Shair Bagh area in Anantnag which exploded with bang, injuring two CRPF personnel, deployed in the area, as well as five civilian pedestrians.
The injured were soon evacuated to district hospital Anantnag and have been identified as Navender Kumar, Vishal Patel, both personnel from CRPF’s 96 battalion, Irfan Ahmad Son of Mohammad Saleem of Lal Chowk Anantnag, Naziz Begum wife of Mohammad Ashraf of Anchidora, Sofia Jan daughter of Haji Ghulam Nabi of Anchidora, Rahina Jan daughter of Ghulam Mohammad of Anchidora, Mohammad Hussain of Safipora and Najeeb Ahmad of Iqbal Colony.
A doctor at the District Hospital told INS that all the injured are being treated in the facility.
Meanwhile, following the incident, government forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants and when this report was filed, searches were going on in the area.
