LAWDA cracks whip on illegal construction in Dal

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir lakes and water ways development authority on Tuesday launched an demolition drive in Gadoo Mohalla Dal and other adjacent areas of the lake.

According to officials, in the drive illegal single storey and a showroom was demolished which were raised taking the advantage of bad weather .

“The anti encroachment drive was heded by Enforcement officer, LDA. During the drive there was a stiff resistance from the locals at site but the demolition drive continued and the raised illegal structures were demolished,” officials said.

Moreover, FIRs were also lodged against the violators for raising these illegal structures.

“The tipper, load carrier owners are directed not to carry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal, nigeel lake without permission,” spokesman of LAWDA said.
