One of the locals said that despite several requests, the officials concerned failed to provide it, due to which locals have to go miles in snow to fetch water.

The residents appealed to the higher authorities to issue necessary directions to the officials to get the water supply restored in the area as soon as possible.

Executive Engineer (EXN), Public health engineering department, Awantipora, Chander Kant Sundan, when contacted, told INS that, he will immediately send his team to restore the supply in the areas.

“I am informing my AEE and other concerned. We will look into the matter soon,” Sundan said.
