Grenade attack in Sopore, sentry fires few rounds in Rajpora Pulwama

Sopore/Srinagar: Militants made an abortive bid to attack a bunker of paramilitary CRPF at Sopore in northern Baramulla district while a sentry at Rajpora police station in southern Pulwama district on Friday evening fired few rounds in the air after noticing some suspicious movement.
Reports that suspected militants hurled grenade attack at 179 BN CRPF bunker at Main Chowk Sopore on Friday this evening. However the device exploded on road side without any casualty to any person.
SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal said that a team of police has was verifying what actually happened there. He said there was no report of any injury to anyone in the blast.
A joint team of Army, police and CRPF launched cordon and Search operation in the area to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, police said that the sentry posted at police station Rajpora Pulwama fired few shots in air after noticing suspicious movement near police station Rajpora.
