Qazigund: The public Health Care (PHC) at vessu Qazigund in south kashmir is operating from a tin shed from last sixteen years, and awaits offfial orders of shifting to new building.
“There has been a considerable delay in the shifting of PHC Vessu from the doctors quarters to newly building,” locals told INS.
“We have donated a part of land for this new building of PHC and we also contributed in every way to ensure the completion of construction, but we are still waiting for shifting in new building,” villagers said.
Construction was completed in 2003 and since then, the PHC still runs from a tin shed and couple of rooms meant for the doctors.
They also claimed that out of the sanctioned strength of 5 doctors, only 3 doctors are working with only one staff nurse.
CMO Fazil Kochak said: When we get the connection of electricity, we will shift to new building.
“In 3 or 4 days we will get the power connection and then we will shift it in a new building,” he said.
