Deputy Mayor Injured as SMC Council Session Turns Violent

Srinagar: Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation Sheikh Imran was injured after councilors session turned violent on Monday.
The meeting, that started peacefully, saw councilors engage in heated exchange of words and it took an ugly turn when one of the councilors hurled some object at Imran who was removed to nearby police hospital with serious injuries, sources said. Imran got a stitch also and is being discharged from the hospital, the sources added.
