Snowfall: Srinagar-Jammu highway closed, air traffic suspended

Srinagar: The fresh snowfall in Kashmir valley has led to the suspension of road and air connectivity of the valley to the rest of the world.

Officials said that the traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway has been suspeded following heavy snowfall at Jawahar Tunnel.

The snowfall has led to slippery road conditions.

Meanwhile, officials at Srinagar airport said that the snowfall has led to cancellation of flights at the airport.

He said that due to snowfall Spicejet 161; Air Asia all flights; Go Air 129  have been cancelled.

The official said that the air traffic will be restored once the weather improves.

Railway authorities however said that trains between Banihal to Baramulla will chug as per schedule.
