Ganderbal: A boy from Ganderbal, who left home to join militant ranks in a bid to take revenge from revenue officials especially a Tehsildar for causing “unnecessary hassles” in getting possession of migrant property purchased by his family, has been brought back by police.
“Enquiry revealed that the young boy had left home in a vengeful huff and was intending to join militancy,” a police spokesman said.
However, Police with the cooperation of his family traced the boy and with the great efforts and persuasion was able to bring back the boy and dissuaded him from joining militancy, the spokesman said further .
“After proper counselling by police, the boy was handed over to his family. Locals have appreciated the role of police in this regard,” the spokesman said.
A senior police officer inquiry revealed that his father had purchased land from a migrant family about 10 years ago but no possession was given to the family till date. His family fought case in revenue courts and also got latest directions for getting possession from FC Revenue, the official said.
“Four days ago his father died of heart attack who was a cancer patient. Due to prolonged delay in settlement of land dispute and increased sufferings of his family, the boy left home to join militancy so as take revenge from revenue authorities especially a Tehsildar for causing unnecessary hassles in disposal of revenue matter,” the officer said.
Police said his latest location was traced near SICOP complex at Bijbehera and accordingly a Police party was rushed there and convinced him to return home.
