Power woes: Warpora Budgam reels under darkness since 45 days, residents protest against PDD

Budgam: Without electricity since 45 days residents from Warpora village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday assembled outside District Development Commissioner’s office protesting against Power Development Department (PDD).
“Our whole area is deprived of electricity from last 45 days and PDD officials are turning a blind eye towards the issue,” they said.
“The present damaged100 kv transformer is incapable of supplying sufficient amount of electricity to whole Warpora village and is vulnerable to frequent damages,” Athar Bashir, a protester said.

He added that they have  been appealing the concerned department to provide 250 kv Transformer.

Protesters appealed higher authorities to intervene in the matter so that people could have a sigh of relief.
