Baramulla: The district Administration Baramulla launched an anti encroachment drive in municipal council Sopore on Monday against street vendors and shopkeepers to ensure smooth flow to traffic. 
A team of MC led by Executive officer  Lateef Ahmad Mir  carried the anti-encroachment drive at different markets of town including Main Chowk, Iqbal Market, Bus stand Road, Tehsil Road, Main Bazaar and its adjacent areas.
Executive Officer MC Sopore Lateef Ahamd Mir told INS  that they have already warned vendors and shopkeepers to stop occupying roads and footpaths ‘but they didn’t stop’.
“So we started a drive against the encroachment by these vendors and shopkeepers,” he said. ]
