Kulgam: Following a specific input about movement of militant, the government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hassanpora area of Arwani in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
On the evening of Friday, the forces including Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed off all the entry and exit points to the Hassanpora area.
Locals said that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Kulgam locality and are conducting a search operation in the area.
Youth took to streets as soon as troops launched the joint operation. Shouting pro-freedom and pro-militancy slogans, the youth threw stones on government forces. the CASO was going on when this report was filed.
