Tral: Inhabitants of Pinglish village in Tral sub district of South Kashmir have been hit by acute portable water shortage for three weeks now.
Locals told INS that, from last three weeks, they are not getting clean drinking water supply, due to which they are facing inconveniences.
The locals further said that despite several requests, the officials concerned failed to provide it, adding that officials at the helm of the affairs have gone into a deep slumber.
The residents appealed to the higher authorities to issue necessary directions to the officials to get the water supply restored in the area.
Assistant Executive Engineer, Public health engineering department, Tral, Nisar Ahmad Kar, said that, lack of proper drinking water in Pinglish is due to block in flow at upper reaches of Tral.
He said that employees are timely going there to look after and trying their best to resolve issues.
