Shah Faesal likely to join NC; Bureaucracy’s loss is politics’ gain, says Omar

Srinagar: The 2009 topper of the UPSC civil services Shah Faesal has decided to join National Conference and is tipped to be the party’s contestant for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, according to the reports.

They said Shah Faesal has decided to call it a day as far as bureaucracy was concerned and foray into the politics by joining the old grand party in Jammu and Kashmir.

National Conference vice president and formed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah welcomed him into the “politics”.

“The bureaucracy’s loss is politics’ gain. Welcome to the fold @shahfaesal,” Omar tweeted.

Omar further said: “Actually I welcomed him to the fold of politicians. His future political plans are his to announce.”
