Jammu: 6 Kathua District Jail inmates pass CBFL course

JAMMU: The maiden academic course under Adult Education Program in Urdu through Tata Consultancy Services Limited’s Computer Based Functional Learning (CBFL) technique concluded here today with six inmates of District Jail successfully completing the lessons.

Pertinently, around 10 inmates were enrolled for the first course and the exam was conducted for 8 inmates due to mid-way release of 2 of them. Out of 8 inmates appeared in the exam 6 qualified while 2 inmates could not qualify the exam.

The successful inmates were awarded course completion certificate by Jail Superintendent Mushtaq Ahmed Malla in presence of other officers and officials of the District Jail.

The software technique developed by Tata Consultancy Ltd. emphasizes on learning words rather than alphabets, through a process of visually stimulating settings accompanied by audio which learners can easily relate to.

The Jail has requested Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. for introducing the same program in teaching Hindi Language, which is likely to be introduced shortly.
