12th Class Result: Only 21 Boys Make It To Merit List As 95 Students Share Top 10 Positions In All Streams

Srinagar: The girls have been outshining boys in the 12th class examinations on top ten positions in all streams for years. On Monday, the results declared by the J&K Board Of School Education were no different. While Home Science is opted by girls alone and 11 of them shared the top ten positions, the fairer gender continued dominance on top positions in other three streams—Science, Arts and Commerce.
While 84 students in these streams shared the top positions, boys could find only 21 slots—18 in Science, 2 in Commerce and only one in Arts.
In Science stream, 47 students shared the top 10 positions and the boys who made it to the top list
include Amaan Bilal (4th position with 97.6%) of St. Joseph ‘s Higher Secondary School, Baramulla;
Mehraj Ud Din Shah Peerzada (5th with 97.4%) of Government Higher Secondary School, Drugmullah, Kupwara; Faizan Fayaz (5th) of Mantiqui Memorial Wakf Higher Secondary School, Awantipora;
Mumin Ahmad Khan (5th) of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar; Moin Ahmad Chalkoo (5th) of Welkin H.S.S., Sopore; Mir Mohammad Tahleem (7th with 97.0%) Tyndale Biscoe HSS, Sheikh Bagh; Mohammad Numan Gaani (7th) of St. Joseph ‘s Higher Secondary School, Baramulla Shajar Bin Nissar (7th) Army Goodwill School, Wuzur, Quazigund; Wani Afsar Illahi (7th) of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Trehgam Kupwara; Danish Manzoor Bhat (9th) of Government Higher Secondary School, Kunzer ;Jaipreet Singh (9th with 96.6%) of St. Joseph ‘s Higher Secondary School, Baramulla; Japneet Singh Kala (9th) of St. Joseph ‘s Higher Secondary School, Baramulla;Umer Mushtaq Lone (9th) of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Pampo ; Jay Jit Singh (10th with 96.4%) of St. Joseph ‘s Higher Secondary School, Baramulla; Mohamad Zaid Sultanpuri (10th) of St. Joseph ‘s Higher Secondary School, Baramulla;Mohammad Tahir Sheikh (10th) of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Baramulla; Sajad Ahmad Bhat (10th) of T.L.A.I. Nasirabad, (kanijpora);Yasir Hussain Khan Sayeeda (10th) Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Sopore
In commerce department, 13 students shared 10 positions and among them include only two boys— Sheikh Faizan Farooq (5th position with 96.4%) while Rohan Tariq Bhat (7th position with 95.8%) both of S P Higher Secondary School, M A Road, Srinagar.
In Arts stream 24 students shared the first ten positions and only one boy made it to list—Towseef Shafi Mir (3rd position with 98.2%) of Government Higher Secondary School, Srigufwara, Anantnag.
