TRAL: Shakoor Ahmad Parray, who was killed in an encounter at Gulshanpora Tral, was the third militant from Parray family in Laribal village of Tral, since 2014, to die among militant ranks.
Shakoor, according to family, was a bachelors student at Government Degree College Tral before joining militancy.
“He went missing in October 2017 and later we came to know that he has joined Hizbul Mujahideen outfit,” family of Shakoor said.
In a span of four years, Parray family of Laribal has lost three sons and all were affiliated to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).
“They were cousins to each other,” they said.
Tariq Ahmad Parray, was the first militant from Parray family. he was a Post Graduate student in Kashmir University (KU) before joining militant outfit, and was killed in a gunfight in June 2014 at Buchoo village of Tral.
 Ishaq Ahmad Parray, commonly known as Newton, who was a well known HM militant was second militant from the said family.
Before joining militancy, Ishaq passed 10th and 12th with top positions and was killed in the year 2016 at Dadsara village of Tral in an encounter with forces.
 Shakoor was killed on Thursday at Gulshanpora.
Amid chill, thousands of people participated in his funeral prayers.
Laribal village is located near famous tourist resort in Tral, namely Shikargah, with beautiful green forests and water bodies all around.
