Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir with rest of the World, has been closed for vehicular traffic following fresh snowfall at several places along the nearly 300 km stretch on Friday.

A Traffic police official told INS that the thoroughfare was closed at around 1400 hrs as time to cross Qazigund elapsed besides there was massive snowfall around Jawahar Tunnel and other parts along the highway.

Meanwhile Mughal Road connecting twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri with Shopian also remained closed with region recording heavy snowfall.
