Missing girl’s body recovered in Kangan

Ganderbal: Body of girl, missing from last two days, was recovered from power Canal at Panzin village of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday.
SHO Kangan Kursheed Awan said that locals informed the police that the body was laying in the canal after which police team was immediately rushed to the spot and retrieved the it with the help of locals.
The deceased has been identified as Rubeena Bano (22) daughter of Nazir Ahmad Tandooli of Tandooli Mohala Kangan. She was missing from December 25 and the family had registered a missing report with police station Kangan.
The SHO said that after conducting postmortem, the body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites. He said police has taken cognizance and taken up the investigation.
