BASHARAT RASHID
Tral: A massive fire broke out in Chaan-Kitar forest at South Kashmir’s Tral area of Pulwama on Wednesday evening.
Locals said the fire was spreading rapidly after it broke out suddenly during evening hours in Shahpora forests in Chan-Kitar.
Range officer forest department Tral, Farooq Ahmad, told INS that a team has been deputed to the area, which will extinguish the fire in coming hours.
According to forest department officials, the soaring temperature and the lack of rainfall are the main reason behind the rising incidents of forest fire.
