Sameer Ahmad
Anantnag: Five paramilitary CRPF personnel and a policeman were injured at Hassanpora-Arwani Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district after militants hiding in the area hurled a grenade towards government forces amid a cordon and search operation.
Sources said that the injured have been shifted and reportedly militants escaped following which CASO has been called off.
The government forces had launched CASO following a specific input about the presence of militants in the village in the afternoon.
Soon, scores of people took to streets and clashed with government forces. The government forces fired tear smoke shells and fired pellets to disperse the protesting youth, reports said. One civilian was also injured due to pellet injuries.
