Srinagar: Two militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter with government forces in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
The gunfight ensued after a joint team of army’s 42RR, CRPF’s 180 battalion and police launched cordon and search operation in Arampora.
As soon joint team of government forces zeroed in on a suspected house, the militants hiding inside it fired upon them, triggering off an encounter. As per the sources, two militant have been killed so far.
A police officer said that “operation” was still going on and “details with regard to killing militant would be shared later”.
