Power woes: Without electricity for twenty days, Buhama Kupwara residents protests

Kupwara: Scores of residents from Bumhama Hamelt in northern kahsmirs kupwara district on Tuesday morning blocked Srinagar-Kupwara Highway against the authorities for failing to provide power their area since last twenty days now.

Protesting residents alleged that, Concenred Power Development department has failed to provide to our area for twenty days now, Since last couple of weeks department has been playing hide and seek with us.

They said that, Depsite assurance from higher authorities concerned department hardly pays heed to our sufferings.

Protesting locals said that, “Our transformer has suffered some technical gag due to which that was sent for department purpose but more than two weeks have gone past but the transformer hasn’t been fixed so far despite notifying the officials time to time”.

Later police reached the spot and assured the protesters that their demands will be fulfilled by notifying the concerned department for timely action into the matter.
